Blurb:

Seven years ago, carefree college student Flora Dane was kidnapped while on spring break. For 472 days, Flora learned just how much one person can endure.

Miraculously alive after her ordeal, Flora has spent the past five years reacquainting herself with the rhythms of normal life, working with her FBI victim advocate, Samuel Keynes. She has a mother who’s never stopped loving her, a brother who is scared of the person she’s become, and a bedroom wall covered with photos of other girls who’ve never made it home.

When Boston detective D. D. Warren is called to the scene of a crime—a dead man and the bound, naked woman who killed him—she learns that Flora has tangled with three other suspects since her return to society. Is Flora a victim or a vigilante? And with her firsthand knowledge of criminal behavior, could she hold the key to rescuing a missing college student whose abduction has rocked Boston? When Flora herself disappears, D.D. realizes a far more sinister predator is out there. One who’s determined that this time, Flora Dane will never escape. And now it is all up to D. D. Warren to find her.

The Review

A heart-stopping thriller in the D.D Warren series

A college student, Flora Dane, is abducted for 472 days. Her kidnapper assaults her,  tortures her and his depravity is chilling. During her captivity, Flora does all that is asked however evil just so her life will be spared. Repulsive yet intriguing is the dependency that develops between Flora and her kidnapper. Miraculously alive after her ordeal, Flora has spent the past five years trying to fit in the life that was once normal to her with the help of the FBI victim advocate, Samuel Keynes. Then a murder happens which seems like one committed by a vigilante.

Detective D.D. Warren is called to solve the crime. D.D. is suspicious of Flora who has had previous run-ins with three other suspects. Soon Flora disappears and D.D realizes that the real predator is at large and more evil than she imagined. It’s a race against time for D.D to catch the killer before Flora from a survivor becomes a victim, again. Or even worse!

The plot of ‘Find Her’ is complex and there are some usual surprises that make a Lisa Gardner book a Lisa Gardner book.

The story swings between Flora’s past and present in the most gripping way. As a reader, you are rooting and questioning what Flora has become now. The suspense is nail-biting and Ms. Gardner’s crisp writing will coerce you to finish this book in one go. A must read for all lovers of D.D. Warren series.
